40 hr. MARINE OIL SPILL RESPONSE May 18-22, 2026

This is a 5-day course that is taught in the classroom and downtown Corpus Christi Marina. This hands-on training involves response techniques for oil spills in ports and harbors, rivers, canals, and open waters. Activities include small boat handling, boom deployment and recovery, pump and skimmer operations, response strategies, and more. This course includes studies of the laws and regulations governing oil spill prevention and response from a historical perspective; the physical, chemical, and biological processes related to oil in the environment; and the established strategies and tactics for preventing and managing oil spills.  The NSCS has a cancellation fee of 25%.
